A simply exceptional estate jewel featuring a rare and completely untreated/unheated Sapphire from Mogok in Burma weighing an impressive 6.16ct. The colour is an almost pure hue of medium blue, not too light and not too dark, just as blue sapphire should be - and reminiscent of the prized ‘Cornflower’ hue - extremely lovely indeed. We have deliberately taken the pics in 3 different lighting conditions. The gem is a little’silky’ as Burmese sapphires often are, This is one of the best value Burmese blue sapphires of this cornflower-like hue we have seen for a while - it is really a delightful gem. The cut is rather shallow and which contributes to the large face, but the gem has been made into a magnificent ring. The diamonds total 0.66ct and are clean and white brilliant cut stones.
